About Us
The House of Sisterhood
The House of Sisterhood was created from a simple but powerful gathering of women who came together to celebrate Haitian Mother’s Day. What began as a moment of connection and joy quickly grew into an ongoing circle where women meet regularly to share meals, celebrate milestones, and exchange essential information about education, employment opportunities, immigration support, healthcare, and other community resources.
As the group continued to grow, its purpose expanded. It became more than just a place to share information—it evolved into a supportive environment for healing, encouragement, and genuine connection. In response to life’s challenges, the women cultivated a strong sense of unity, creating a network where every voice is valued and every story matters.
As the vision became more defined, the group chose to formalize its identity. After careful consideration, The House of Sisterhood was selected. Thirteen pioneering women embraced this vision, marking the official beginning of the organization.
